Since the world is full of false prophets and their prophecies, why should we consider the ancient writings of the apostles of Jesus Christ? What does it matter what is written in Romans 1? What could it possibly have to say about modern America?
What is more characteristic of American culture than the lawlessness of idolatry and sexual perversion? What other prophecy explains the link between the divine wrath against idolatry and its display in giving men over to sexual perversion?
Men do not approve of God and do not want to retain the knowledge of God in their thinking. So the criminalization of Christianity is the next thing in the suppression of truth and is consistent with the lawless normalization of sexual perversion. Biblical morality must be suppressed along with the knowledge of God.
'Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened' [Romans 1:21].
As man glories in autonomous reason he has rid himself of the doctrine of creation out of nothing by assuming that matter and energy are eternal and that life and immaterial mind emerge from what is dead; he has invented macro-evolution to explain the record of divine judgment of the antediluvian world; he has exchanged the natural law for that which the Bible says is sin as if the Bible is no longer authoritative; he has vainly judged that this generation is wiser than the men of the founding generation. This generation glories in their shame, rather than in God.
