How sad for a so called church to be offering a mess of pottage rather than the riches of God in Christ; that is, the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The apostle prays for the people of God: that the eyes of our understanding would be opened and that we might know the hope of His calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in us and the greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to His power in raising Christ from the dead and giving Him dominion over all things, including sin and death. [Ephesians 1:15-21]
In Christ the way of access to God is opened to all men through faith in Him. This is the great New Covenant promise that is being fulfilled through the preaching of the Gospel. The things of value to the world are passing away. The things of Christ are eternal.
