When there is tolerance for everything then truth claims are excluded except for the denials of Biblical Christianity. The kind of Christianity that includes sin and moral quilt and the exclusive redemption in Jesus Christ alone is not welcome in the secular square. What authority does the Bible have over us? The Bible doesn’t condemn slavery, and everyone knows that the slave trade was wrong. Never mind the logical flaw. Never mind the biblical use of slavery as a type for the bondage that holds all men captive to their own sin. Never mind that the Law does condemn sin in the heart when it says, “Thou shalt not covet”. Men do not want to be bothered by such things. They will resist with hate crime exceptions to the first amendment regarding religious speech. This will give way to increased lawlessness and tyranny. The understanding that liberty has its origin in the Law and the Gospel is foreign to this culture. The heritage of faith from our forefathers is being exchanged for a heritage of meaninglessness. Postmodernism is the newest form of the oldest idolatry that man is his own god.
