Death separates Truth from Darkness

Nowhere is the contrast between truth and error more evident than in the question of death. The origin of death is known to man through divine revelation…

‘Since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive…Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep; but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. The trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality’ [1 Corinthians 15:21, 51-53].

Death is a result of the curse against Adam’s sin. Redemption in Christ delivers men from the curse and from the power of sin and death over us.

Now here are some statements taken from the writings of the anti-theist neo-scientists. The anti-biblical thinking and depth of deception of these men become clear when they elevate death as a necessary condition for life…

At no point do the known laws of physics and chemistry force us to assume that biological systems must grow old and die. Death emerged from the universal principle of evolution because aging and length of life are adaptive phenomena which developed in specific ways for each life form during the course of its evolution. The process of evolution was thus enhanced by the introduction of death as an opportunity for new development and the progression of life.

This is classic neo-science since the origin of death is outside the realm of science. The plague of autonomous wisdom is still with us and its fruits have overtaken us in that this vain philosophy is considered orthodox.

We think our culture advanced compared with the ancient pagan cultures and so we are in technology. But it is our Reformation base that gave birth to modern science. The necessary conditions were a belief in a reasonable Creator and Sustainer of all things and a belief that man as the image bearer of God was given dominion over the creation to discover the works of God.

But in philosophy and theology we are more backward than the pagans. We on whom the ends of the ages have come have exchanged light for darkness. This is the greater darkness; this is darkness indeed.
