Unnatural Law and Debased Mind

“Fidelity to the natural law…is at the very core of what conservatives seek to conserve.” –Terry Jeffery

If conservatism is about conserving the order of natural law, then its opposition must advocate the overthrow of natural law precepts. But the anti-theist Left likes to tell us that they have a morality based in natural law.

But what is natural about the murder of unwanted babies? Does that not indicate the want of natural affection that also leads to the abuse of children?

What is natural about sexual immorality? Doesn't the natural law teach us faithfulness to the marriage bed?

What is natural about sodomy? Does it not indicate an absence of morality and a debased mind that wants to legitimize sexual perversion under the banner of marriage? A mark of being given over to the reprobate mind is the lack of shame for one’s sin. They glory in their sin.

What is natural about encouraging dependency rather than self-sufficiency? Does that not indicate a fundamental hatred for the natural law? How can men know liberty and enjoy their freedom if they are wards of the state?

What is natural about dividing people into classes and pitting one class against another? Doesn’t the natural law teach that all men are equal before the law? Shouldn’t that also include the tax law? What justice is there in taxing one man at a different rate than another?

What is natural about usurping basic authorities and teaching doctrine contrary to home and church? Shouldn’t the public schools uphold the traditional morality rather than seek its overthrow?

What is natural about opposing a Constitution that it is based on natural law precepts? The anti-theists do have a morality and it is called the lawlessness of unnatural law. When cultures reject the natural law, they end up with law that opposes nature and is therefore destructive.
