“Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?’” (Matthew 19:5,6)
We thank Mr. Knight for using this quote in his article. We pray for him in being like a Jeremiah and boldly speaking truth to a people opposed to truth and given to what is right in their own eyes.

The context of the Matthew 19 quote is the answer Jesus gives in the face of the unbelief and deceit of the Pharisees testing Him with the question whether it was lawful for a man to divorce his wife.
The Pharisees denied the one flesh relationship between a man and his wife. They wanted easy divorce so they could engage in a sexual relationship with another woman. They did not deny Genesis 1 that ‘from the beginning God made them male and female’ and that lawful sexual expression was within the boundaries of the marriage union. Lawful divorce was restricted to a breach of the marriage covenant either by uncleanness or desertion.
Today men suppress the truth of Genesis 1. They deny that God made them male and female from the beginning for the mutual benefit of one another in the marriage covenant. No fault divorce was followed by abortion on demand. And because men suppress the truth of God’s glory displayed in the creation, God has given them over to lawlessness that displays the depth of human depravity.
We must speak truth to the culture and make the same link that Paul makes in Romans 1 as to the cause of the increase and normalization of sodomy in the culture. Again, the culture's greatest enemy is the vain philosophy that leads to lawlessness, not the sodomites.
